Aber Achtung: Die Ergebnisse stützen sich auf wenige Studien, hauptsächlich mit Frauen, und könnten von Ausreißern beeinflusst sein. Daher lohnt es sich in die einzelnen Studien genau hineinzuschauen. Dennoch ist Tanzen vielversprechend – und die Studie mahnt uns, Forschungsergebnisse sorgfältig zu prüfen. <p>Eine neue Studie, veröffentlicht in der Fachzeitschrift Neurology von Adesuyan et al. (2024), sorgt für Aufsehen: Phosphodiesterase Typ 5-Inhibitoren (wie Viagra) könnten das Risiko, an Alzheimer zu erkranken, verringern. Die Forscher analysierten Daten von Männern mit erektiler Dysfunktion und fanden heraus, dass diejenigen, die Viagra einnahmen, ein geringeres Alzheimer-Risiko hatten.</p>
<p>Doch bevor Viagra als Wundermittel gefeiert werden kann, gibt es einige Schwächen der Studie zu beachten. Die Studie ist eine Beobachtungsstudie, was bedeutet, dass sie Korrelationen, aber keine Kausalität beweist. Zudem wurden mögliche Einflussfaktoren, wie Lebensstil und genetische Prädispositionen, nicht vollständig berücksichtigt.</p>
<p>Obwohl die Ergebnisse vielversprechend sind, ist weitere Forschung notwendig, um die tatsächliche Wirkung von Viagra auf Alzheimer zu bestätigen. Bis dahin bleibt Vorsicht geboten&#8230;<br />

Die bahnbrechende Studie von Alison Wood Brooks aus dem Jahr 2014 legt jedoch nahe, dass es oft vorteilhafter ist, Angst als Aufregung zu interpretieren, anstatt sich zwanghaft zu beruhigen. Dies liegt daran, dass der Wechsel von einem Zustand hoher Erregung (Angst) zu einem Zustand niedriger Erregung (Ruhe) schwer zu erreichen ist. Wenn man jedoch Angst als Aufregung umdeutet, bleibt man in einem Zustand hoher Erregung, was die Leistung in stressigen Situationen verbessern kann. Diese Reinterpretation kann zu einer positiveren Einstellung und gesteigerten Motivation führen, da Aufregung als produktiv und energiereich empfunden wird, während Angst oft als lähmend wirkt.<br />

Diese Sicherheits-Netzwerke konkurrieren jedoch in vielen Situationen noch mit den alten &#8222;Angst-Netzwerken&#8220;. Je nachdem, welches Netzwerk die Oberhand behält, reagiert unser Organismus mit Angst oder Gelassenheit. Vor diesem Hintergrund haben sich viele Forscher mit der Frage beschäftigt, wie sich &#8222;Sicherheits-Netzwerke&#8220; in unserem Gehirn noch weiter festigen lassen. Erste Studien konnten zeigen, dass wir durch ein einfaches Mentaltraining (bei dem wir uns an erfolgreiche Angst-Konfrontationen erinnern) die Rückkehr der Angst (&#8222;return of fear&#8220;) deutlich verringern können. Vermutlich werden durch das Mentaltraining die neuronalen Gedächtnisspuren unserer Sicherheits-Netzwerke gefestigt (konsolidiert).</p>

<p>Ohne Zweifel: die mit Abstand am besten erforschte Psychotherapie zur Behandlung von Panikattacken ist die kognitive Verhaltenstherapie (KVT). Zur kognitiven Verhaltenstherapie bei Panikstörungen liegen mittlerweile derart viele Studien vor, dass sie von vielen Forschern als &#8222;Goldstandard&#8220; bezeichnet wird. Neue Therapieansätze müssen sich an der KVT messen lassen. Was nicht effektiver (oder effizienter ist) hat langfristig nur geringe Aussichten auf Erfolg. Zur Überraschung vieler Forscher konnte in einer neueren Studie die EMDR-Therapie (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), welche bisher in erster Linie bei posttraumatischen Belastungsstörungen (PTSD) angewandt worden war, der KVT das Wasser reichen (Horst et al, 2017). Womöglich trägt die EMDR-Therapie zu einem Umschreiben alter Angsterinnerungen bei (Gedächtnisrekonsolidierung)&#8230;</p>

Wenn dies jedoch gelungen ist, könnte der Schlaf dabei helfen, das Gelernte zu festigen (zu konsolidieren). Denn etliche Experimente konnten zeigen: im Schlaf lernt unser Gehirn weiter. Die Erfahrungen des Tages werden noch einmal durchgespielt, wodurch Gedächtnisspuren tiefer werden (Gedächtniskonsolidierung). In einer ersten, hochinteressanten Pilotstudie konnten deutsche Forscher zeigen, dass dies auch für die Angst Therapie zu gelten scheint.</p>
