<p>Eine Schlüsselstudie, die dieses Phänomen wissenschaftlich untermauert hat, ist:</p>

<p>Was besagt diese Studie?<br />
In dieser wegweisenden Untersuchung (oft einfach als &#8222;Matz et al., 2017&#8220; zitiert) zeigten die Forscher, dass Werbebotschaften deutlich effektiver sind, wenn sie auf die psychologischen Profile der Nutzer zugeschnitten werden. Sie nutzten Facebook-Likes, um Persönlichkeitsprofile von Millionen von Nutzern nach dem Fünf-Faktoren-Modell (Offenheit, Gewissenhaftigkeit, Extraversion, Verträglichkeit, Neurotizismus) zu erstellen. Anschließend führten sie reale Werbekampagnen durch, bei denen die Anzeigenvarianten (z.B. eine Anzeige für ein Beauty-Produkt) mal auf eher extrovertierte, mal auf eher introvertierte Persönlichkeiten zugeschnitten wurden. Das Ergebnis war eindeutig: Psychologisch passende Anzeigen führten zu signifikant mehr Klicks und sogar mehr Käufen als unpassende oder neutrale Anzeigen. Die Studie lieferte damit einen starken Beleg dafür, dass &#8222;Psychological Targeting&#8220; – also das gezielte Ansprechen basierend auf psychologischen Merkmalen – eine wirksame Methode zur digitalen Massenpersuasion ist.</p>
<p>Aber es geht weit über Facebook-Likes hinaus!<br />

<p>All diese Daten können von KI-Systemen analysiert werden, um extrem detaillierte Profile von uns zu erstellen. Diese Profile ermöglichen es Unternehmen, nicht nur Werbung hochpräzise auszuspielen, sondern potenziell auch unsere Meinungen und unser Verhalten subtil zu beeinflussen.</p>

<p>Seit Jahrzehnten versuchen Forscher, diese Frage in aufwendigen Studien zu beantworten. Dabei stießen sie tatsächlich auf einige Persönlichkeitseigenschaften, mit denen sich zumindest ein großer Teil des Erfolgs mancher Menschen vorhersagen lässt (z. B. Intelligenz, Selbstkontrolle, Gewissenhaftigkeit, Offenheit, Extrovertiertheit, Selbstwirksamkeitserwartung etc.). Doch selbst wenn man diese &#8222;besten&#8220; Prädiktoren kombiniert und statistisch für Messfehler korrigiert, bleibt in vielen Studien ein sehr großer Teil der Varianz unerklärt.</p>
<p>Offenbar gibt es noch einen weiteren großen Erfolgsfaktor, der von vielen Menschen drastisch unterschätzt wird. Einiges spricht dafür, dass es sich dabei um den Faktor &#8222;Zufall&#8220; handelt. Und manche Forscher – so wie der heutige <strong>Gastredner Professor Dr. Christian Busch</strong> – sind davon überzeugt, dass wir durch das richtige Mindset erlernen können, den <strong>Erfolgsfaktor Zufall</strong> besser zu nutzen. Und so können wir aus einem trivialen Zufall eventuell Glück machen.</p>

In einer bahnbrechenden Studie konnten Forscher der Stanford Universität vor einigen Jahren eine (etwas gruselige) Antwort liefern: es ist ein leichtes, nur mit Hilfe von Facebook-Likes die wichtigsten Persönlichkeitseigenschaften (u.a. die Big Five: Offenheit, Verträglichkeit, Gewissenhaftigkeit, Extraversion und Neurotizismus) vorherzusagen (Youyou et al., 2015).</p>
<p>Die Ergebnisse dieser Studie zeigen, dass Facebook Likes eine wertvolle Quelle für die Vorhersage von Persönlichkeitseigenschaften sind und dass Machine Learning-Modelle in der Lage sind, diese Eigenschaften mit hoher Genauigkeit vorherzusagen (Kosinski, Stillwell, &amp; Graepel, 2013). Allerdings gibt es auch ethische Bedenken hinsichtlich der Privatsphäre und der Möglichkeit, dass diese Technologie missbraucht werden könnte (Stichwort: Cambridge Analytica).</p>

<p>Über 100 Jahre Forschung konnten eindrucksvoll zeigen: Anhand der Big Five Persönlichkeitsfaktoren lässt sich Berufserfolg im Durchschnitt erstaunlich schlecht vorhersagen (Schmidt, Oh &amp; Shaffer, 2016). So zeigte eine gigantische Metaanalyse beispielsweise, dass die Persönlichkeitseigenschaften Extrovertiertheit und emotionale Stabilität nur 0,8 % bzw 1,4% der Varianz in den beruflichen Leistungen erklären. Zum Vergleich: die kognitive Leistungsfähigkeit (Intelligenz) erklärte 42,5%!</p>
